National Disaster Awareness Day Commemoration by the Pakistan Humanitarian Network
HUJRA Organization participated in “National Disaster Awareness Day Commemoration” by the special request of the FATA Disaster Management Authority by demonstrating a joint display stall with FDMA. The event was organized by Pakistan Humanitarian Forum (PHF) in collaboration with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA), Temporarily Displaced Person (TDP) Directorate of FATA and Center for Disaster Preparedness and Management University of Peshawar on October 10, 2017 at Sahib Zada Abdul Qayum Hall University of Peshawar with an aim to commemorate the day and to express solidarity with the bereaved families who lost their dear ones and to create awareness in general masses and among the stakeholders about the risks and disaster management.
The HUJRA’s stall displayed all the good practices of the project like Training Manuals, IEC Materials, toolkits and a simulation model. Similarly the WFP and FDMA good work was also presented in the stall. Hundreds of visitors visited the stall in which the delegations from PDMA, FDMA, PHF, and Centre for Disaster Preparedness & Management, Temporary Displaced Persons (TDP) Secretariat, Field Formations, World Bank, UN Resident Coordinator and Government Line Departments are worth mentioned. More than thirty International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) from all the country participated in the event.
