Eight Days CBDRM Training for Government Officials of Bajaur & Mohmand Agency
HUJRA conducted a Eight Days Training of Trainers (ToT’s) for Government Officials on “Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM)” from 10th– 17th, July, 2017 at District Swat, Madyan, under the Project ”Restoration of Livelihoods and CBDRM initiatives for community uplift in Bajaur& Mohmand Agencies–FATA” in which 22 Government officials participated from Line Departments (Irrigation, Agriculture, Forest, Civil Defence, Education and Social Welfare) along with Political Administration, Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) and FATA Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) of Bajaur and Mohmand. The main aim of the training was to educate and aware the government officials about the concepts of Disaster Management and CBDRM and its implementation at community level and to prioritise the Disaster Management at policy level. The training covered the basic concepts of Disaster Management, Disaster time line of Pakistan, Climate Change and its impacts and First Aid. The Government Official were given an exposure visit to Kalam Valley and visit to local Village Disaster Management Committees (VDMC’s) members and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) schemes implemented by Malteeser International at Kalam Valley.
